That episode of Doctor Who where they get lost in the TARDIS, you know? They go through a door and it opens out to a garden? And there’s a gardener, and he nods a greeting to the Doctor and he’s all chilled and his side-kick is all baffled and stuff. And the side-kick says:
“What is it Doctor?”
“Oh yeah! It’s the garden.” The Doctor explains, like it’s obvious.
The TARDIS has a garden you see, with walls, and a sky and everything. And they walk across a bit of lawn towards the wall, and go through a little gate, and there’s an alleyway outside, like a cobbled street, and there’s the TARDIS, parked on the corner. And everything’s alright.

One band’s accidental tribute to the Doctor Who theme tune:

We were really pleased with the BBC Radiophonic Workshop / TARDIS style sounds (we spent ages trying to get the guitars to sound like something other-wordly and unguitary and they eventually came out like that!). No samples. Just a lot of “do it again… it still sounds too much like a guitar” and a dash of reversed-reverbed flanger….
A review of a recent gig described this as: “a grizzly baguette of barbed-wire oozing delicious Dubstep bass feeding off a ‘ Gary Gilmore’s Eyes’ riff.”
